Everything naftype can do

A complete offline speech-to-text toolkit — private, fast, and built to fit your workflow.

Privacy & Offline

Your voice data stays on your machine — always. No servers, no accounts, no exceptions.

Zero Network Connections

naftype makes absolutely zero network requests. There's no update checker, no analytics endpoint, no telemetry server. Disconnect your ethernet cable and it works identically.

No Telemetry or Tracking

We don't collect usage data, error reports, or performance metrics. There's no tracking code in the binary at all — verify it yourself with a network monitor.

No Account Required

Download, install, enter your license key. That's it. No sign-up form, no email verification, no password to remember or leak.

Audio Never Leaves Your Machine

Audio captured by your microphone is processed entirely in local memory by the built-in speech engine. It is never transmitted, uploaded, or sent anywhere.

Audio Never Written to Disk

Captured audio lives only in RAM during transcription and is discarded immediately after. No WAV files, no temp files, no recoverable audio artifacts.

Performance

Fast, accurate local transcription — under 2 seconds from speech to text.

Optimized Speech Engine

naftype's speech engine is purpose-built for speed on CPU hardware — no GPU required, just fast local transcription out of the box.

Under 2-Second Transcription

From the moment you stop speaking to text appearing at your cursor, the entire pipeline completes in under 2 seconds on most modern hardware.

Auto-Punctuation & Capitalization

Periods, commas, question marks, and proper capitalization are added automatically — so your transcribed text reads naturally without manual editing.

99 Language Support

The built-in multilingual engine supports 99 languages out of the box. Select your preferred language in settings, or let it auto-detect.

Lightweight & Efficient

The full application including the speech engine uses less than 600 MB of RAM, optimized to run efficiently on standard CPU hardware. Runs comfortably alongside heavy workloads like IDEs and browsers.

Responsive Architecture

Recording, processing, and pasting all happen concurrently without blocking each other — keeping everything responsive while you work.

Workflow Integration

naftype fits into your existing workflow — no app switching, no copy-paste.

Works in Any Application

naftype pastes transcribed text directly into whatever window is focused — your browser, IDE, email client, chat app, or any text field in any application.

Auto-Paste at Cursor

When transcription completes, text is automatically pasted at your cursor position. No clipboard managers to configure, no manual paste step.

Clipboard Preservation

naftype saves your clipboard contents before pasting and restores them afterward. Your copied text, images, or files are never overwritten.

Global Hotkey from Anywhere

Trigger recording from any application with a system-wide hotkey. You don't need to switch to naftype first — it captures the hotkey globally.

User Experience

Thoughtfully designed to stay out of your way while keeping you informed.

Minimal Floating Indicator

A small, unobtrusive overlay shows recording status without stealing focus or covering your work. It's always visible but never in the way.

System Tray Application

naftype lives in your system tray, ready when you need it. No main window to manage, no taskbar clutter — just a clean tray icon.

Configurable Hotkey

Choose any key combination as your recording toggle. The default works great, but you can customize it to fit your existing shortcuts.

Audio Cues

Subtle sound effects confirm when recording starts and stops, so you don't have to look at the screen to know naftype heard you.

Drag-to-Reposition Indicator

Don't like where the floating indicator appears? Just drag it to any screen edge or corner. Your preferred position is remembered between sessions.

Customization

Tune naftype to match your hardware and preferences.

Speed vs. Accuracy Control

Choose between four engine modes (tiny, base, small, medium) to balance speed versus accuracy based on your hardware. Smaller modes transcribe faster; larger modes are more accurate.

Language Selection

Set your preferred transcription language, or leave it on auto-detect. Locking a language can improve both speed and accuracy for that language.

Microphone Selection

If you have multiple audio input devices, pick exactly which microphone naftype should listen to — no more transcribing from the wrong mic.

Silence Timeout

Configure how many seconds of silence naftype waits before automatically stopping the recording. Tune it for your natural speaking pace.

Launch on Startup

Enable naftype to start with Windows so it's always ready in your system tray. One less thing to remember when you sit down to work.

Everything you need, offline.

One tool, one purchase, zero compromises. naftype gives you fast, private speech-to-text without subscriptions or data leaving your device.
