Introduction

naftype is both a desktop application and a website. This privacy policy covers how we handle data across both surfaces. We've written it to be straightforward and jargon-free — you should be able to read the whole thing in a few minutes.

The short version: the desktop app collects nothing. The website uses minimal, privacy-friendly analytics. Payments are handled by a trusted third party.

Desktop Application

The naftype desktop application operates 100% offline. It makes zero network requests of any kind during normal use. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no usage tracking built into the app.

Audio captured from your microphone is processed entirely in RAM. It is never written to disk and is never transmitted to any server. As soon as transcription is complete, the audio data is discarded from memory. naftype has no access to your files, clipboard history, or any other data outside of what you explicitly direct it to transcribe.

To be explicit about what the app does not do:

• No network requests during normal use
• No telemetry or usage statistics
• No analytics or event tracking
• No crash reports sent to any server
• No audio stored to disk
• No audio transmitted over the network
• No access to your files or documents

Website Analytics

The naftype website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Cloudflare Web Analytics is a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. It does not use cookies and does not track visitors across sites or devices.

Cloudflare Web Analytics collects the following aggregated, non-personal data:

• Page views and navigation paths
• Referring website or source
• Browser type and operating system
• Country-level location (not city or region)

Cloudflare Web Analytics does not collect:

• IP addresses (they are not stored)
• Personal identifying information
• Cookies of any kind
• Cross-site tracking data

Because Cloudflare Web Analytics uses no cookies and collects no personal data, no cookie consent banner is required. You can learn more about Cloudflare's approach at cloudflare.com.

Payment Processing

All payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, a merchant of record. naftype never receives, processes, or stores your credit card number or any raw payment details. When you complete a purchase, you are submitting your payment information directly to Lemon Squeezy's secure checkout.

As part of processing your payment, Lemon Squeezy collects:

• Your email address
• Your name (as entered at checkout)
• Payment information (credit card or other method)
• IP address (used for fraud prevention and tax determination)

Lemon Squeezy's handling of this data is governed by their own privacy policy. You can review it at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

License Key Activation

After purchase, naftype requires a one-time license key activation. During this step, the app contacts a Lemon Squeezy license validation endpoint to verify your key. This is the only network request the desktop application ever makes.

Once your license has been successfully activated, the app operates entirely offline with no further network requests. There is no periodic "phone home" to check your license status or validate your subscription.

Data We Store

The only personal data we hold is your email address, which is provided to us by Lemon Squeezy when you complete a purchase. We use your email address for:

• Delivering your license key and purchase confirmation
• Sending critical product updates (e.g., security notices)
• Responding to support requests you initiate

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with any third party for marketing purposes. We do not send newsletters or promotional emails without your explicit consent.

Your Rights

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so, email us at support@naftype.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and we will remove your data from our records within 30 days.

If you have questions about what data we hold about you, you can reach out to the same address and we'll respond promptly.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. We will not retroactively reduce your rights under this policy without providing clear notice.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of naftype after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
